The Tastes from Home with Frito-Lay recipe Contest & Giveaway #FritoFlavors

Frito-Lay has created several NEW regionally-inspired flavors spanning across the United States.  With school rapidly approaching (and may have started for some of you already), shopping for school snacks are a MUST!

Regional Flavored potato chips are made with all natural ingredients and contain 0 grams of a trans fat per serving!  In addition, a 1-oz serving of our Lay’s Regional Flavored potato chips contains less salt than a plain bagel!  Lay’s Regional Flavored potato chips come in a variety of flavors:

Northeastern U.S. – Lay’s Honey Mustard

Midwestern U.S. – Lay’s Creamy Garden Ranch

Northwestern U.S. – Lay’s Balsamic Sweet Onion

Southwestern U.S. – Lay’s Chipotle Ranch

Southeastern U.S. – Lay’s Cajun Herb & Spice

I'd love to try the Creamy Garden Ranch as well as the Honey Mustard potato chips!  I think the kids would get a kick out of them too!  It's so nice to see a different flavor chip that's not the ordinary chip flavor… great way to switch it up!

Being born and raised in the Midwest, I grew up eating Salmon Croquettes! My grandmother used to make them and I LOVED them!  I'd love to share the recipe…

Salmon Croquettes

1 can salmon (or 1-2 fresh salmon fillets)
1 egg
1 cup cracker crumbs (or bread crumbs)
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
¼ cup flour
Chopped onion (to taste)
Chopped green pepper (to taste)
Vegetable oil        

Crush crackers into tiny pieces and place to the side. Drain and flake the salmon. Mix salmon, flour, onion, green pepper, egg, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix in ½ cracker crumbs. Form into patties and coat in remaining cracker crumbs.  Place in skillet with vegetable oil over medium heat. Cook until golden brown.
