With the holidays rapidly approaching, I am reminded at how wonderful this time of the year is. You never know what kind of weather you'll get here in St. Louis, Missouri, but one thing is definite, it is beautiful! With my family and extended family living here as well, the comfort and love is high while we gather at each other's homes to celebrate.

Our family really gets in the holiday spirit about this time in December, it is time to start baking cooking for Journey to Bethlehem.. It is a lot of fun even the 6 yr old boy enjoy's it. This year we are not in the "play" but we will walk the journey several times, and at end see everyone eating our cookies ( they usually give away over 30,000 home baked cookies and hot chocolate after you have walked to bethlehem.
After mass on Christmas Eve, we have dinner with my in-laws. On Christmas day, we have a big breakfast at home, and in the afternoon head to my parents' house where my whole family gets together. Thanks!

We love advent calendars. I have one that I put little presents on for the kids. A candle that we burn down the days and a paper one (given as a gift) where we open the doors. It's fun! My 3 year old likes to play "What is Santa doing right now". The answers can be as simple as sleeping to checking his list to overseeing toy making. She can get very creative with the answers. Thanks!

We celebrate by getting the whole family together - parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, kids, and enjoy each others company, eat a big meal, and exchange gifts.

We usually get together on Christmas eve and have appetizer foods and exhange small presents and read the Christmas story and sing songs. we leave cookies for santa and carrots for the reindeer. Then we wake up at the crack of dawn on christmas morning to find what santa left us!
